Special Needs

Special Needs

At Highland Park Community Church, we are honored to provide an environment where special needs families can grow deeper in their relationship with God. We have a growing community of special needs families that worship and gather together on a regular basis.

Sunday Worship Service

We would like to invite your child to attend service in our special needs classroom. Our special needs department is staffed by trained childcare workers who are committed to creating an environment of safety, love, and learning for your child. Weekly lessons include fun activities as well as teaching from the Bible. Each student is able to participate in our program and lessons to the extent of their abilities. We practice inclusion whenever possible, and want our students to be accepted and celebrated for their achievements. We look forward to serving your child!

Second Saturday Respite for Special Needs Families

We believe that special needs parents are heroes, and need a break every once in a while. On the second Saturday of every month, we offer a “respite” event where you can drop off your special needs child for a few hours. Our trained special needs volunteers will provide your child with a fun-filled program that will include games, Bible stories, and refreshments. You will be free to go on a date, run some errands, or just take a nap! For more details, contact Barb Flinn our Special Needs Coordinator, at bflinn@hpcc.cc.

Serving Opportunities for Special Needs Youth and Adults

Our All-Star team exists to give special needs youth and adults aged 16+ opportunities to volunteer at the church. The All-Stars serve in a safe, supportive environment, and everyone is given the opportunity to be a part! For more details, contact Barb Flinn, our Special Needs Coordinator, at bflinn@hpcc.cc.
